FLYING OVER SUNSET

FLYING OVER SUNSET is "an irresistible trip worth taking, brought off with supreme flair," raves Terry Teachout of The Wall Street Journal. "I'd gladly see it again right away!"

Set in 1950s Hollywood, this “ambitious and truly original” production (New York Stage Review) follows cultural icons CARY GRANT, CLARE BOOTHE LUCE and ALDOUS HUXLEY on a transformative LSD trip into the most colorful corners of the human psyche. Charles Isherwood cheers, “In an environment when musicals seem to fall into just a few dreary formulas, it’s a valiant and intriguing journey into uncharted territory.”

Directed by Pulitzer Prize and Tony winner James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George), FLYING OVER SUNSET features a score by Pulitzer, Emmy, and Tony winner Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and Tony nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens), with choreography by MacArthur grant winner Michelle Dorrance. Carmen Cusack (Bright Star), Harry Hadden-Paton (My Fair Lady), and Tony Yazbeck (On the Town) lead the cast in this "transcendent sensory feast" (New York Stage Review).
